Draw for 2007 U.20 Men’s FIFA World Cup

The pools were drawn in Toronto for the 2007 Under 20 Men’s FIFA World Cup.   Host nation Canada will open by playing Chile on Canada Day (July 1) in Toronto.

You had to watch the draw to believe it and it’s production line similarity.  The team names were placed in small soccer balls which were placed in approximately 5 large fish-bowl shaped glass bowls while the pool positions were drawn from 6 bowls on the opposite side of the stage.  The one stated rule was there could not be two teams from the same federation in a pool.  The Canadian Olympians who drew the balls included Donovan Bailey (track gold), Marnie McBean (rowing gold), and Curt Harnett (cycling bronze) along with soccer ace Christine Sinclair.
