The 2007 FIFA World Youth Championships for Men are coming to Canada this year. Twenty-four under-20 teams have qualified for the tournament and the pools will be determined tomorrow (March 3rd).
Six cities in Canada will host the soccer games – Victoria, Burnaby, Edmonton,
Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal – in Canada 2007, which opens on June
30th. Defending champion Argentina has qualified and will be
one of many teams vying to lift the trophy on July 22nd.
Joining the host country, Canada, are:
Asia: Japan, Jordan, Korea DPR and Korea Republic
AFrica: Congo, Gambia, Nigeria and Zambia
North/Central America: Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and USA
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay
Oceania: New Zealand
Europe:: Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Scotland
500,000 tickets have already been sold despite purchasers not knowing which teams will play where.
