The Countdown to 2010 Begins

The official countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympics started yesterday.  A special clock was unveiled at the Vancouver Art Gallery to begin the 3 year countdown to the opening ceremonies taking place in Vancouver on February 12, 2010.  The countdown clock sits in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street (one block east of Granville St.).

Dignitaries from various levels of government were on hand for the
unveiling including Gordon Campbell, the B.C. premier, and Sam
Sullivan, mayor of Vancouver.  If you watched the closing ceremonies of
the 2006 Torino Games you’ll likely remember seeing Sullivan, who is in
a wheelchair, accept the flag during the closing ceremonies.

P.S.  I’ll put some photos up soon.
