The Swedes played with 10 men from the 35th minute of the game when defender Lucic was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the match. Argentina needed a goal in overtime to edge Mexico 2-1 in World Cup play. This was a thrilling game to watch!
The Mexicans got on the board first when Borgetti back-headed a free-kick to Rafael Marquez who, sliding toward the goal feet first, deflected the ball into the back of the net in the 6th minute. Hernan Crespo of Argentina responded 4 mintues later when he deflected a corner kick into the right side of the net.
Maxi Rodriguez scored what was to be the game winner in the 98 minute of the match. Rodriquez collected a crossed ball on his chest and sent an explosive volley into the top right corner of the net. It was one of the best goals of the tournament. Soccer Match Summary
